PRIVACY POLICY

Welcome to www.womenasingleparents.com (.org, and .net), and www.WomenasSingleParents.com (collectively, the “Website”), the official website of Women as Single Parents Inc., a California nonprofit public benefit corporation (“we,” “us” or “WSP”) provided to our users (“you”) for your personal use, education, communication and participation. This privacy policy (the “Policy”) is in place to protect your personal information and explains WSP’s practices regarding your personal information collected through the use of the Website. By accessing the Website you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions of the Policy, and agree that WSP may collect, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with this Policy and as permitted or required by law. If you do not agree with the terms of this Policy do not visit the Website and do not provide us with any personal information.

What type of information does WSP collect?

WSP does collect certain personally identifiable information. However, WSP only collects Personal Information (as defined herein) to the extent necessary to provide you with the information, for donation purposes as discussed below, and other services of the Website. For > purposes of this Policy, “Personal Information” means any information, recorded in any form, about an identified individual, or an individual whose identity may be inferred from the information. In order to contact WSP or register with WSP to become a potentially Member or Partner of the organization you will be required to sign up and submit certain Personal Information. By providing such Personal Information, you will be able to contact WSP and register to become a Member or Partner, and also make donations to WSP.

For donation purposes only, WSP does collect Personal Information, which will include a person’s credit card number, the billing address, mailing address, and name of the person who agrees to make a donation. WSP will also collect the bank account number from those individuals who prefer to make a donation via their bank account. WSP uses this credit card information solely for the payment processing of your donation and will not retain this information for marketing or any other purpose. Please be aware that WSP will not ask for your credit card information, except as set forth in this Policy.

WSP also collects certain non-personally identifiable information. When you visit and access the Website, WSP collects the following non-personally identifiable information from you:

Cookies

When you visit the Website we send one or more “cookies” to your computer that uniquely identifies your browser. A cookie is a small file containing a string of characters that is sent to your browser from our web server and is stored on the hard drive of your computer. You agree that you shall not upload, post, transmit, distribute or otherwise submit to the Website, any  communications which (i) are fraudulent, unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, libelous, defamatory, obscene, vulgar, offensive, pornographic, profane, sexually explicit or indecent; (ii) constitute or encourage conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international law; (iii) violate, plagiarize or infringe the rights of third parties including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, trade secret, confidentiality, contract, patent, rights of privacy or publicity or any other proprietary right; (iv) contain a virus, spyware, or other harmful component; or (v) constitute or  contain false or misleading indications of origin, endorsement or statements of fact.

Aggregated Information

Aggregated information is information, recorded in any form, about more than one individual, where the identity of the individual is not known, and cannot be inferred from the information. We may use aggregated information to: (i) describe our user base to third parties; (ii) to understand and respond to our members’ partners’ and users’ needs and preferences; or (iii) to make recommendations to our users.

What type of information does WSP NOT collect?

Except as provided in this Policy, AT NO TIME WILL WSP REQUEST YOUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION (EXCEPT FROM THOSE PERSONS WHO HAVE AGREED TO DONATE TO WSP), SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER, NATIONAL IDENTIFICATION NUMBERS, OR ANY OTHER FORM OF PERSONAL INFORMATION. WSP is concerned with identity theft and the practice known as “phishing,” so please safeguard your Personal Information to help protect you from identity theft.

How does WSP protect your Personal Information?

WSP takes precautions to ensure that Personal Information is kept private, and to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, or modification of your Personal Information. Please note however that we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Information. We assume no liability for the loss of any Personal Information or any damage that may result from the loss of such information that you transmit to us via the Website.

Under what circumstances will WSP disclose my Personal Information without my consent?

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE ARE CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE THE USE OR DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION MAY BE JUSTIFIED OR PERMITTED, OR WHERE WE MAY BE OBLIGATED TO DISCLOSE SUCH INFORMATION WITHOUT CONSENT. Such circumstances may include, without limitation, the following:

  • To collect monies owed to WSP;

THIS POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO THE WEBSITE. The Website is not intended or designed to attract “minors” (as defined under the laws of their jurisdiction or residence).
